Stage Makeup and Period Hairstyles
for Students and Adults

Open to All Students Ages 13 to Adult

Overview

Come and learn to do your own stylized stage makeup and period hairstyles in this new workshop. Students will learn to do six different looks including Basic Stage Makeup, Marie Antoinette, Fantasy, and even the techniques of Aging through makeup design. These useful skills will be taught by Ludington Artist and Director Anesa Beilfuss, owner and Artistic Director of Improvika Acting Company.

This 5-week workshop will start on Friday, January 10th, and then meet each Friday through February 7th at the Howmet Playhouse. Refer to the Detailed Schedule below.

Class fee: $40.00
Materials Fee: $10.00
Partial scholarships are available

Detailed Schedule

Workshops will be held at the Howmet Playhouse. Each session will start at 5:30 pm and last two hours. It is suggested that each student bring a friend (a model) if they can with long hair for styling. If they don't have a friend that is available, students will take turns working on each other.

January 10th: Basic Stage Makeup & Dramatic Evening Makeup
January 17th: "Marguerite" (Marie Antoinette stylized hair & makeup)
January 24th: Protector of the Pond (Fantasy Makeup & Hair)
January 31st: "Pin Up Style" (1940's Victory Curls & Finger Waves)
February 7th: "Old Mother Hubbard" (Old Age and Elderly Hair)

And …

While bobby pins, hairspray, and make up sponges will be provided, each student is expected to supply the following items:

blow dryer
large tupperware bowl (large enough to fit your head inside)
hair clips of various sizes
medium barrel curling iron
large barrel curling iron
fine tooth comb
face wipes
makeup brushes
mascara
liquid foundation that matches skin tone
black eye liner -brown eye liner
black liquid eyeliner

Each student is encouraged to bring as much of their own personal makeup and hairstyling products as they would like to add to their variety.
