This year Dan's Cans is proudly sponsoring Catholic Charities West Michigan's Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in Muskegon. Bring your nonperishable food items to the Lakeside Eagles on Saturday, November 2nd, items for personal hygiene and infant needs also appreciated (diapers, baby wash, shampoo, etc.) No clothing donations this year. Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 pm and will cost $5 per plate. 50 raffle (must be present to win).
Live music will continue throughout the evening. Cash Bar, I.D. Required. 100% of all proceeds go directly to the Food Pantry. This all started in 2010 when Dan Elwell found out he was dying of pancreatic cancer, he decided then that one of the last things he wanted to do was collect food for Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. Now, his children and family are carrying on his wish with this event. The event is free, except for the meal, which is $5 plus donations of nonperishable food. Personal hygiene items and cash will be accepted. Last year the event collected about 1,816 pounds of food and raised over $1,200 in cash to be used at the food pantry for purchase of food through Feeding America. The family commented: "We work to make a Difference!"
