Merizon Studio presents “Branching Off,” an exhibit of recent paintings by local artist, Charles LaRue. LaRue graduated in 1982 with a degree in Illustration and Design from Kendall School of Design.

His work has been exhibited in various Grand Rapids galleries, including MercuryHead, Mattie & Flynn, Hefner Galleries Ltd, Bergsma Gallery and Pepper Moon.

LaRue has participated in numerous competitions and exhibitions where he has won awards both locally and nationally. His work can also be found in many private, corporate, and public collections in West Michigan and beyond.

KaTie said the following about his show: “I am delighted to have this exhibit at Merizon Studio, where the modern master artist, Armand Merizon, lived and created so many of his mind-bending powerful works. I am also excited to be presenting a body of work that is very focused in scope. This showcase of my recent work reveals a thematic unity.”

Merizon Studio began as a picture framing studio located in the former studio of the late renowned artist, Armand Merizon, and has evolved to include a gallery space in the artist’s farmhouse home. Merizon Studio has had the pleasure of hosting many local artists over the past two years and looks forward to continuing this effort for years to come.

A reception for Charles LaRue’s “Branching Off” exhibit will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 4 to 9 pm. The show will run through November 17, 2013.

Merizon Studio is located at 9087 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Caledonia, MI, 49316. For further information, please contact Chantal Merizon Van Heest at Chantal@merizonstudio.com or 616-485-5752.
