Fogged Clarity will always have roots in Muskegon, Michigan, where Ben Evans posted his first advertisements of his free online literary magazine. It was the Winter of 2009.
He held his first musical shows of hand picked musicians at the Howmet Theater, the Beardsley Theater and the Theater Bar, which is a local watering hole in Grand Haven to be precise. It's been a long while since we've had an Evening with the Clarity in Muskegon. Staring through the brilliant fog, I see that a lot of the musical performances now occur somewhere else. One wonders in the shows are still performed and recorded in Evan's Chicago apartment?
I have a review of that last Evening with the Clarity at the Howmet Theater. I'm looking back into the Captain's archives to post under #ClassicCaptain.
In the meantime, take a look at issue 46 or so. There's a quality about Evans that leads great poets and writers to open up to him. See if you can figure out what is the quality, and model those parts that are more than innate.
