The Woodcarving of Lamidi Fakeye: Four Generations of Yoruba Masters and Apprentices

7:00 pm Lecture by Dr. Bruce M. Haight, Guest Curator

Dr. Bruce Haight will discuss the work of Lamidi Fakẹyẹ. Dr. Haight is a retired history professor from Western Michigan. He was a longtime friend of Fakẹyẹ and was instrumental in bring him to West Michigan. Dr. Haight is an expert on the artist's career, and is currently cataloging the artist's archival records (for eventual donation to a research library.) The reception and lecture are free and open to the public.
