Say YES to MCC November 5,2013 so the Overbrook Players Can Have a New Home Downtown Muskegon. Tartuffe Triumphed Tonight!

Too late to urge you to see Tartuffe at Muskegon Community College. The show closed tonight.

Tom Harryman is one of the best teachers a young actor can encounter early. Harryman knows how to raise young actors to a level of excellence far beyond their experience.

I could talk about how wonderful the actors articulated. I could talk about how well the actors made every movement count. Let's leave that for another day.

Sadly, the Overbrook Players perform in a beautiful stage on the outskirts of Muskegon. One cannot bolt out of the theater during intermission and score a pint of Unruly Brewing Company microbrew or a glass of Pigeon Hill stout. There's little but beautiful nature around the campus.

If the MCC vote triumphs, the arts center will be built downtown, where great theater belongs.

Tonight's performance deserved to be located in an active downtown. Give MCC two years, and the season of 2014-2015 will make it to Western Boulevard or Third Street.

Say YES, and encourage friends and family to vote yes.
