Pulso is Compulsory! See More than Twenty-Eight Pulso Artists on Exhibit at the NEWLY REBORN @UICA, Grand Rapids

Pulso, ubicado entre The Fed Galleries de KCAD y Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA), tiene sus raíces en la exploración de las formas en que los límites regionales afectan la percepción del arte. Anque los artistas que participan tienen sus origines en Latino América esta presentación en colaboración esta libre de las limitaciones localistas permitiendo que la diversidad de los mediós y los temas pongan en duda los pre-conceptos del arte contemporáneo mientras resfuerza y fortalece el diálogo entre los artistas locales en el contexto del mundo globalizado.

Spanning between KCAD and the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA), Pulso is rooted in an exploration of the ways in which regional boundaries affect the perception of art. While the artists involved all have ties to Latin America, this collaborative exhibition frees itself from the confines of such labels by allowing the diversity of medium and subject matter to challenge cultural preconceptions of contemporary art and strengthen the dialogue among artists, both locally and globally.
